Cruise Lines Responsibility for Covid-19 Spread to Passengers- Profits Over Health and Safety

Holzberg Legal is conducting ongoing investigations into the conduct of many Cruise Lines regarding the handling of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the numerous outbreaks on board numerous Cruise Ships. Many Cruise Lines actively chose to continue sailing as the COVID-19 Pandemic was spreading throughout the scheduled destinations and Ports of Call. Despite the known risks, the Cruise Lines continued to sail to these infected population centers. Additionally, the Ports of Embarkation and Debarkation are in major urban centers where passengers live and travel to including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego, Los Angeles, and New York. The United States Centers for Disease Control, as reported by the USA TODAY, reports that many thousands of passengers traveling on Cruise Ships in February and March 2020 were potentially exposed to COVID-19 and subsequently returned home. The CDC's report listed 21 ships with confirmed COVID-19 cases including Ports of Call located in the United States the list does not include many other cruises involving international travel that did not stop in the United States but may have included those passengers from the United States who subsequently returned home after their voyage and exposure to COVID-19.

Several lawsuits have already been filed against Princess Cruise Lines and Costa Cruise Lines. In both cases there are significant issues about whether the Cruise Lines sailed after it had knowledge of outbreaks on its ships among passengers and crew. The Cruise Lines then allowed subsequent cruise sailing to occur and passengers to board without any warnings or taking any action to screen passengers or crew for COVID-19.

Holzberg Legal is currently representing passengers and have been in active discussions with Crew Members who have suffered harm as a result of COVID-19. If you or a loved one has been on a Cruise Ship since February 1, 2020, you may have been exposed to COVID-19, or if you have been diagnosed, then the lawyers at Holzberg Legal are here to help you.
