Kimberly Moore, a resident of Hinds County, Mississippi, has filed a maritime personal injury lawsuit against Carnival Corporation in the Southern District of Florida. Unbeknownst to her, the handle was allegedly loose and improperly secured. When she grabbed it, it detached or shifted, causing her to slip backward and fall.
As she fell, Moore instinctively reached out with her left hand to break the fall, resulting in a fractured wrist. The complaint alleges that the loose handle created a hidden and dangerous condition, particularly for passengers with mobility limitations like Moore.

Moore’s legal team argues that Carnival breached its duty to provide a reasonably safe stateroom environment by failing to inspect, maintain, and secure the shower handle.
